Kevin has been able to work with Terry for many years and jumped at the chance to become a partner in 2011. Kevin earned his CPA shortly after graduating from Campbell University. A veteran, Kevin served 8 years in the US Army and Tennessee National Guard. Kevin has 35+ years of experience in public and private accounting. His 17 years as controller of a privately held company allows him to understand your unique accounting needs.
Gaining his MBA from Lipscomb University and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation gave him the desire to reenter public accounting.
He and his wife, Lynn of over 42 years have 3 children and 6 grandchildren who keep them young at heart. They are also members of Harpeth Hills Church of Christ and are involved marriage mentoring and teaching adult classes. Kevin loves watching sports, going to theme parks, and spending time with his family. His mission is to glorify God through sharing an abundant life in Christ with others.

Eric LeVan, CPA, MBA
PARTNER
Eric became a CPA soon after graduating from Freed-Hardeman University. After several years in governmental and healthcare audit-focused roles and serving tax clients in his spare time, he was excited to join Kevin and devote his time fully to serving the firm’s tax clients. After a short time working with Kevin, Eric quickly appreciated the culture Kevin had built - one that takes care of clients and employees while honoring God through the firm’s work. Eric became a partner in 2025 and strives to serve his community the same way Christ would.
Eric is passionate about working with businesses that need more support than they are accustomed to. He enjoys helping business owners navigate accounting and bookkeeping, tax compliance and planning, and advisory needs such as projections and forward-looking planning. His goal is to come alongside clients, gain a deep understanding of their business, and help them make confident, informed decisions to increase their post-tax net worth.
Eric and his wife, Katie, were married in 2022 and have a son who keeps them busy and entertained. They attend Harpeth Hills Church of Christ and enjoy taking walks together as a family, trying new restaurants and recipes, and watching Formula 1 races together. Eric’s desire is to serve clients with integrity, care, and a commitment to lasting relationships.

Stan Smith, MBA
Operations / business support / tax
Stan joined the team in 2019, to manage daily operations at Hopkins, LeVan & Weatherspoon as well as assist business clients. Coming from a work history in small business operations, Stan has experience in accounting, HR, payroll and cash projections. After receiving his MBA in 2015, Stan served as an adjunct professor in Lipscomb University’s College of Business teaching Servant Leadership.
Stan is married to Leanne (Wood), a Nashville native, Lipscomb University professor, and novelist. They're members of Harpeth Hills Church of Christ. Stan and Leanne have two daughters and one son-in-law, and one granddaughter. Stan has finished seven Ironman triathlons and enjoys coffee.

Heather Berry
auditor
Heather joined Hopkins, LeVan & Weatherspoon in 2025 after interning with the firm earlier that year and now serves as a Staff Auditor. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Lipscomb University.
Her work primarily focuses on audit services, while also supporting the firm with tax work as needed. Heather brings strong attention to detail and a thoughtful approach to her work.
Originally from Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, Heather now resides in Franklin with her husband, Hayden, and their puppy, Toast. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring local coffee shops, spending time outdoors, and taking on new crochet projects.

Dorene Bruce
Office Administrator
Dorene serves as our office administrator, helping support the entire staff along with handling customer service and client data intake. Dorene has a long history in the Nashville banking community and loves to spend time with her horses. Dorene is a crucial part of the team and helps keep things running smoothly, especially during tax season. She’s the proud mother of two sons, Allen and Wade.

Aimee Breece
BUSINESS BOOKKEEPING
Aimee joined the team in 2022, to work with our business clients. Aimee taught 2nd grade at Nashville Christian and has directed a preschool for the past 20 years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Lipscomb University and a Master’s in Supervision and Administration from Trevecca. Her organization and efficiency are a blessing to the team and the work.
Aimee and her husband, Paul, attend Harpeth Hills Church of Christ. They are the parents of Jordan, Connor, Shelby, Kelsey, Bryson, and Maddie. They have two lovely granddaughters, Lucy and Ansley.
